K.C. played his college basketball at Highline College in Seattle and Montana Tech before finishing his degree in International Business at Evergreen State College. After finishing his studies, he had a successful career playing and coaching professionally in Germany. Having experienced the sport as player and coach K.C. realized the need for trusted, honest, and realistic people in the overseas basketball market and began evaluating players and scouting teams. In 1998 he co-founded WillCall Basketball where he worked as director of the company until joining SMWW as Director of Overseas basketball in 2004. In 2008 he started his own company, Perspective Basketball.
Having played the game at a high level, coached overseas and studied the European market first hand for years, K.C. is among the most qualified agents in Europe. His background allows him to understand the needs of young players, while also applying the criteria a professional coach uses to evaluate talent to promote his players to overseas teams. With an in-depth understanding of each individual league overseas, K.C. has cultivated a unique skill for identifying the right situation for each player and understanding what steps are necessary to increase his clientÂ’s market value each season.
The last of 16 children, several of whom have become successful coaches at various levels in the States, K.C. has been around basketball all his life. A point guard at all levels; including 4 years professionally as a player/coach, affords him the unique position of understanding the international basketball business from every PERSPECTIVE. He not only knows the needs of players, but can also apply the criteria a professional coach uses, as well as the financial and tangible expectations of management. His personality, honesty and communication skills leads to him being liked and trusted by players, respected as a peer by professional coaches at every level, and able to deal with even the 'hardest nosed' management team. He tries to bring a harmony to those three entities; a formula he knows from experience will lead to success and a smooth transition for players.
'Although Basketball is a win or loose sport on the court, when handled with honesty, integrity and common sense the 'business' of basketball can and should be a win, win situation for athletes, coaches, and teams. I understand my role as an agent is to bring these qualities to each of my professional and personal relationships.' K.C. Callero-
